Good Morning Ms Ontiveros,
In response to your request for support of GO Bond money being allocated for affordable housing I need some clarification. First, a definition of what “Affordable Housing” means and second what the parameters for them are? Somewhere I heard mentioned that LEED standards of construction would be considered. As a former construction estimator I want to note that LEED certified is far more expensive and with the shortage today of regular building materials, in order to build to those standards, would seriously impact the ability to meet materials requirements in a time sensitive manner that are under such classification for our area. Affordable must mean affordable relative to building costs to the entity funding it.
