JACK OF HEARTS

Dear Superintendent Ruiz,

I am writing to express my support for those who want to remove the subject book from schools, as well as generally moderate what is being put into the heads of impressionable, naive children whose brains will not be fully developed until their mid-twenties, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

I myself had to be forced to choose a major during my sophomore year in college because I did not know what I wanted to do with my life.

I will not reiterate what Sarah Smith and Juan Garcia have said.

I will just note that I have two degrees: a bachelor’s in journalism and a master’s in library science, so of course I value freedom of speech. However, the words journalist and librarian have both been disgraced by the media and fringe groups who have the tails wagging the dogs in America today.

Let’s exercise some common sense and not give blanket approval to everything that is different from traditional American norms, no matter how crazy it is.
